Portfolio Project: Stages of Grief
This series is a tribute to Hiroko's cat Sachiko who died of skin cancer at age 16 in May, 2017. While mourning Sachiko's death, Hiroko created four scrolls depicting different stages of grief she experienced. A dice-throwing method was used to determine the characteristics of each brush stroke, e.g. kanji, size, and darkness of ink.
